Weird Silence

To all of you wondering why I haven't had anything to say, and why there's been no sign of pre-orders or release dates:  I have heard absolutely nothing about my book from my publisher since I finished it.  I have no idea what is going on.

  1. Hang in there, Mr. Roberts; Penny's tale has touched too many readers for Curiosity Quills to drop the ball at this late juncture. I'll try to reach them through their customer service channels and put a bug in their ear about it.

    Sincerely,
    Shawn T Bean,

  4. I have been watching for the book to come out, and wondered what was up... ah well. Patience is a virtue, eh?

    1. It's a rechargeable virtue and most people have lost the adapter plug.

    2. If someone at the publisher is working diligently on the book release, and interrupting them would slow things down, patience is the relevant virtue.

If someone went on vacation for the holidays and didn't properly hand off the project before leaving, the virtues of initiative and persistence are more appropriate.

A priori one can't tell which applies here, though.

    3. Would not Pertinacity be the Virtue or Aspect?

    4. Pertinacity would certainly cover all the contingencies, but Carrollian portmanteau virtues are hard to manage.

Perhaps a beamish boy could be enlisted to help?

    5. (I know what pertinaciousness is. I just thought, in context, it sounded like a kind of a summation of the other virtues mentioned.)

    6. It is a frabjous day when someone takes my meaning, only to be surpassed by the day that this book releases....

  5. I put in a request with customer support to ask what happening.

  8. I lack all of the above virtues. I must read the book. Please, dear publisher. This series gives me life. It's my sustenance. Without the final book, I may fall off the cliff I've been hanging from and plunge deep into unrequited curiosity. Only you can save me Curiosity Quills.

Meanwhile I suppose I can learn how to edit these posts while I'm cliffhanging...

  9. If there's anything we can do to kick them into giving you some updates and/or some progress, I know I would be up for it! Waiting is difficult enough, but waiting with no information or known end in site is truly frustrating!

  10. very sad to hear your publisher is disrespecting you like this. Hopefully they will actually come through with some details soon.

    2. Thank you! I'm losing my grip on this cliff hanging... I will try to endure until at last I can glimpse the peak. I must behold Please Don't Tell My Parents You Believe Her.

  14. I can't wait for it! After the last books cliffhanger of an ending I have been chomping at the bit for it's sequel. Though as someone who primarily consumes his books in the audio format while working I have that much longer to wait I suppose.

    2. Imagine what it feels like for me. My whole career got put on hold as my publisher went silent. I got a notice from them two weeks ago that they're fast-tracking it, and... well, we'll see.

  23. Hopefully you hear from them soon. I know how much I and everyone else on here are waiting for this to be released and it's probably nothing compared to the stress you're feeling waiting for it to be released.

  24. Best wishes and good luck. I hope everything gets sorted, and fast track really is fast track.

  25. at last maybe some good news. I hope they really do fast track it. I hope there was some sort of logical explanation to you for why they sent silent for so long as well. Personally I hate dealing/working with people who cant be relied upon to remain professional and competent. All the best of luck to you and I hope I see your new book out soon so I can buy it and read it the very first day. :)

  26. While we're waiting for updates on Please Don't tell... and if it's not too much trouble... could you share some snippets and bedtime stories from the other worlds you contain locked inside, Mr Roberts?
